Day Camp at YMCA Camp Duncan is unlike any other. It’s a time for youth to stretch their imaginations. Flex their creativity muscles. Learn new and extraordinary skills. Conquer the toughest of challenges. And play until the last whistle blows.

No matter your camp — Explorers, Voyagers, Trailblazers, or Navigators — or one of our special camps, like Survivor Camp or Super Science Camp, the Y has a Day Camp for you. Day Camp Offerings

At YMCA Camp Duncan, we’re putting play at the center of everything we do. At Day Camp, we play for fun and for serious. And we can’t wait to guide youth to discover their favorite ways to play all summer long!

    Explorers Camp

    Explorers begin to experience the magic of camp as they enjoy activities like story time, beach play, swimming, arts experiences, and more!

    Voyagers Camp

    The tradition continues! Voyagers are off to discover new areas of camp — including the climbing tower! — and enjoy activities like art experiences, sports, games, swim practice, and recreational swimming!

    Trailblazers Camp

    Onward — and upward! Adventure, boating, and challenge course experiences enhance the Trailblazers Camp experience, alongside swim practice, recreational swimming, sports, games, arts and crafts, songs, and more!

    Navigators Camp

    Lead the way! Navigators lead camp by example as they continue to practice and model the Y’s values — and throughout the program campers participate in a wide variety of camp activities including challenge courses, team sports, boating, team building, and swimming.

You have questions, we have answers! That’s why we’re hosting our Day Camp information open house before summer officially kicks off. Our Open House events are the perfect time to meet our Program Directors and other staff who will be interacting with your camper all summer long!

  • YMCA Camp Duncan welcomes campers 5 years of age or older! 
  • We want to help your camper explore all summer long! Check out our 2024 Day Camp Rates & Dates to learn more. 
  • If your camper is ready for the experience of a lifetime, please register online. If you need assistance registering, check out this helpful video our Camp Duncan team created. 
  • Absolutely! At the Y, we firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in our program, services, and offerings, including Day Camp, regardless of their ability to pay. Please review the YMCA Camp Duncan Financial Assistance Packet to learn more and apply. 
     
  • We do our best to honor group requests! Please fill out the Group Request Form with the name of your camper’s friend(s).
  • A sense of adventure, of course, as well as a backpack with: a lunch, morning snack, water bottle, swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, and bug spray. 
  • Drop off: 6:30 - 8:30 a.m.
    Pick up: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
    Scheduled activities run from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Yes, our campers experience a full range of summer activities at Day Camp, including swimming! Campers swim in the pool every day during morning rotations. 
  • 5 year olds: 1 counselor for 6 campers
    6 to 8 year olds: 1 counselor for 8 campers
    8 to 15 year olds: 1 counselor for 10 campers

     
  • We want our campers to truly engage in their camp experience and enjoy their time experiencing adventure with their new camp friends! Therefore, we do not allow cell phones or other electronic devices at Day Camp. 
  • All medication (including over-the-counter) requires the Medical Form to be completed and submitted upon arrival on your camper’s first day. All medication should be given directly to the Camp Director.
  • We do not go on field trips during the summer. After all, coming to Camp Duncan is like a field trip on its own!
