The Y Is Helping Close The Digital Divide
Connectivity That’s Growing
We wouldn’t be able to offer these helpful and free services to our residents without the help of our community partners! The Chicago Connected initiative helps offer no-cost, high-speed internet to all Chicago Public School students and families. In addition, Comcast has invested $500,000 in our facilities to help give more community members access to the internet. Over the next three years, we will make Tech Hubs with computers and internet access available for the public to use in six YMCA locations:
- Tech Hub at the Irving Park YMCA
- Tech Hub at the Kelly Hall YMCA
- Tech Hub at the Lake View YMCA
- Tech Hub at the McCormick YMCA (Opening 2023)
- Tech Hub at the Rauner Family YMCA
- Tech Hub at the South Side YMCA
How It Works
The Y’s community Tech Hubs are open to all community residents free of charge! You can use our computers and get support from one of our Digital Navigators. Additionally, if you are a Chicago resident you can call our bilingual Chicago Connected Community Help Desk via phone at 312-440-2416 or via email at [email protected] to get help or to set up an in-person meeting at one of our labs or a different location. The Help Desk is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
