Are you ready for some adult indoor volleyball? Then Foglia YMCA is the place to be this winter for our Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League! We are excited to start this league for those adults that are interested in some more serious volleyball action. The league is 9 weeks long, running on Mondays with game times at 6, 7 and 8 PM.

Players will focus on improving dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. The YMCA co-ed soccer league is a developmental program for all youth players and all skill levels. Our trained and knowledgeable coaches will develop the physical skills and techniques your child needs to enjoy the game of soccer for life. All of our programs promote competing in a fun and friendly environment. The league will be Saturdays ONLY and we will practice our skills for first half, and play games for the second half.

This preschool sports class is designed for ages 3-5 to be noncompetitive with an emphasis on developing general sports skills, good sportsmanship and self confidence. Our instructors help build strong minds, bodies and friendships while intruducing and building skills within a new sport every week. Your child will be introduced to basketball, soccer, t-ball, kickball, and floor hockey. Our new preschool curriculum allows our instructors to provide high quality, structured instruction that caters to short attention spans and high energy. This is a great class to explore sports interests, develop motor skills, improve hand eye coordination, and have fun!

Private swim lessons are the perfect answer for the participant who cannot make our scheduled group lessons or need that extra attention. The benefits of a private swim lesson are that they are scheduled for your convenience, and you can focus your lesson on what you want to learn: to dive, to swim, to complete a triathlon!

Participants will learn new skills and techniques of climbing our rock wall, with a belayer as well as on our auto-belay system. The kids will learn some of the skills needed to become a more successful climber, as well as a belayer. We will focus on knot tying, equipment use and set-up, and climbing commands. The group will learn how to safely climb up the high ropes course in this class, as well as other possible fun activities!

If it's adventure you seek, look no further � because some walls are just meant to be climbed! Join our adventure staff and learn the techniques of rock climbing and knot tying or improve already established skills. The confidence when you make it to the top of the wall is terrific! We will even use some of the other adventure obstacles that will really bring you to new heights.

Tennis Camp will improve your technique, prepare you for tennis matches in the future, and let you have a great time with a pick-up game! Having fun, learning, and improving skills are all emphasized for a positive tennis experience.

Swim Lessons Stage 1: WATER ACCLIMATION Water Acclimation is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will become comfortable independently going underwater and learn how to exit the water safely. Safety is reinforced when students learn about the importance of lifeguard/adult supervision, asking permission before going into any body of water, and life jackets. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Swim Lessons Stage 2: WATER MOVEMENT Water Movement is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will learn independent front and back glides, and swim sequences to reach safety. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about finding help, reach or throw, don't go, and backyard pool safety. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Swim Lessions Stage 3: WATER STAMINA Water Stamina is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will build endurance to perform the safety sequence of swim-float-swim up to a length of the pool. Treading water up to one minute and getting to safety in deep water will be reinforced through jump-push-turn-grab sequence. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about sun safety and calling 9-1-1. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Swim Lessons Stage 4: STROKE INTRODUCTION Stroke Introduction is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will be introduced to basic front and back crawl, as well as butterfly and breaststroke kicks. Students will also work on treading water endurance and be introduced to elementary backstroke. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about beach and boating safety and basic first aid practices. Goggles are recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Water Discovery and Exploration: The infant/toddler program requires a parent/guardian to be present in the pool with the participant at all times. We will introduce basic aquatic safety to parents and set healthy expectations for your child. As children progress in comfort around the aquatic environment, you'll help your child explore by introducing basic skills like kicking, blowing bubbles, assisted floating on front and back, and exiting the water safely. This class is geared towards ages 13-18 and incorporates proper lifting techniques to optimize performance, great for upcoming sports. It also will focus on injury prevention while lifting. Learn the basics of pin-loaded machines, plate-loaded machines and free weights in a fun and engaging way!

Teen/Adult Water Movement and Stamina: YMCA teen and adult beginner swim lessons are designed for those with little or no swimming experience. Skills will include water acclimation and comfort, proper floating, breathing techniques, and basic swim strokes including front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke.

This program is always popular so register early. Tennis will help you improve your technique, hand-eye coordination, and prepare you for tennis matches in the future. Or we'll help you to have a better understanding of the sport to help you have fun with a pick-up game. Having fun and improving skills are all emphasized for a positive tennis experience.

Now that you�ve immersed yourself in The Blue Paradox at the Museum of Science and Industry, it�s time to turn the tide on the ocean plastic crisis � and the Y is ready to dive in and help by engaging you in one of the best water activities: swimming! With generous funding support from SC Johnson, the YMCA of Metro Chicago is providing 1,000 Chicagoland youth with one month of free swim lessons designed just for you and your skill level in and around water.

Campers will participate in an array of educational and recreational activities that develop social skills, self-confidence, sportsmanship, character, and a healthy lifestyle. Activities may include creative and performing arts, sports, and group games.
