The Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program
In partnership with the State of Illinois, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is actively recruiting for our summer cohorts for the Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program. Participation in the summer cohort includes 14 weeks of classroom training in core construction curriculum, hands-on learning at construction sites, a stipend, and services that support successful transitions into apprenticeship programs. The stipend will be granted after successful completion of each program module!
Summer 2024 cohort locations include the South Side YMCA (Woodlawn, Chicago) and Buehler YMCA (Palatine, IL). Applicants must be age 18 years or older, a resident of the State of Illinois, and have proof of graduation from a U.S. high school or a GED.
