Our annual youth basketball league here at the Foglia YMCA provides each group a practice 1 day a week for 1 hour,(Except for the Preschool Divison which is Saturday mornings only) determined right before the league start date. They will play games on Saturdays with times varying. Each team will practice their individual skills along with teamwork drills to become a better basketball player and team. We are in need of volunteer coaches to help with our league to be a role model and teach our players the basics of basketball.

*NEW* 3 + PRO PICKLEBALL LESSONS Want to get better and learn new drills with a Pickleball Pro and your own group of friends? Join us for our new "3 + Pro" pickleball lesson program. Are you ready for some adult indoor volleyball? Then Foglia YMCA is the place to be this winter for our Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League! We are excited to start this league for those adults that are interested in some more serious volleyball action. The league is 9 weeks long, running on Mondays with game times at 6, 7 and 8 PM.

The Sea Otters, a swim team for all beginner to intermediate swimmers that has swim skills equivalent to 5 or 6. The Sea Otters must be able to demonstrate at least all four competitive strokes. Strokes will be refined in this swim team. In Sea Otters your swimmer will continue to work on refining their strokes while also building their stamina, learn how to do starting dives, and work on perfecting their open and flip turns. Swimmers must be able to complete four lengths (100 yards) of each competitive stroke: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and fly. In addition to; two lengths of any stroke. Practices occur three times a week. Swim Meets are recommended for all swimmers.

Classes focus on teaching the players new offensive moves by developing the footwork and ball skills necessary to be successful. Skill sessions are great for players in any of our leagues, or for any player who wants to improve his/her basketball skills.

Halloween at the Y is a community event. Ages 2 and under are free.

The benefits of a private swim lesson are that they are scheduled for your convenience, and you can focus your lesson on what you want to learn: to dive, to swim, to complete a triathlon!

Participants will learn new skills and techniques of climbing our rock wall, with a belayer as well as on our auto-belay system. The kids will learn some of the skills needed to become a more successful climber, as well as a belayer. We will focus on knot tying, equipment use and set-up, and climbing commands. The group will learn how to safely climb up the high ropes course in this class, as well as other possible fun activities!

When school is not in session, the Y�s School Days Out program helps working parents keep their school-age children safe and engaged with a day of fun and exciting activities. Kids will need to bring a lunch.

Safety is reinforced when students learn about the importance of lifeguard/adult supervision, asking permission before going into any body of water, and life jackets. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Swim Lessons Stage 4: STROKE INTRODUCTION Stroke Introduction is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will be introduced to basic front and back crawl, as well as butterfly and breaststroke kicks. Students will also work on treading water endurance and be introduced to elementary backstroke. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about beach and boating safety and basic first aid practices. Goggles are recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Water Discovery and Exploration: The infant/toddler program requires a parent/guardian to be present in the pool with the participant at all times. We will introduce basic aquatic safety to parents and set healthy expectations for your child. As children progress in comfort around the aquatic environment, you'll help your child explore by introducing basic skills like kicking, blowing bubbles, assisted floating on front and back, and exiting the water safely. This program is always popular so register early. Tennis will help you improve your technique, hand-eye coordination, and prepare you for tennis matches in the future. Or we'll help you to have a better understanding of the sport to help you have fun with a pick-up game. Having fun and improving skills are all emphasized for a positive tennis experience.
