Meet Our Day Camp Team: Claynita Hill

Claynita Hill, one of the Elmhurst YMCA’s Day Camp Counselors, hails from Miami, Florida. She graduated from Bethune-Cookman University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Recreation and a Master of Science in Sports Management.

Sports and Recreation is Claynita’s passion. She enjoys sharing the importance of activities that promote health and wellness and loves to eat, dance, and travel. She’s looking forward to creating memories this summer!

Q: Why did you choose to become a Counselor for the Y? 

A: I enjoy working with youth, and I value the principles of the YMCA.

Q: What do you like most about the work that the Y does? 

A: What I like most is that the Y provides facilities and programs for the community.

Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out? 

A: I’m left-handed.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)? 

A: If I could have any superpower, it would be to fly because I’m a free spirit and would love to go anywhere, anytime.

Q: What’s the last song you listened to? 

A: “Love Yourz” by J. Cole.

Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list? 

A: To travel to Italy and Africa.
