Y overnight camps have a way of transforming kids - it takes them away from their normal routine, and creates a safe environment where they can overcome challenges like mastering the climbing wall or hitting their first bullseye. With the great outdoors as a backdrop, our staff designs activities that aim to teach valuable life lessons, like persistence in completing a difficult task, solving problems creatively, and working together as a group to achieve a common goal.
The cabin atmosphere provided at Y overnight camps teaches children how to live cooperatively by sharing chores and respecting each other’s differences. Around the campfire, kids are encouraged to tell stories and share their opinions, while being open-minded and supportive as they listen to others.
“I just think it is a positive experience that all kids should have at least once in their lifetimes!” - Camper Parent
