Facilities & Accommodations

  • Registration can be completed online or by calling the YMCA Family Camp Pinewood staff at 231-821-2421. A $150 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. Full payment is due seven days prior to your arrival date.

  • Our dining hall serves three well-balanced meals each day. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions ahead of your visit.

Meals are served buffet-style in Butler Lodge. Food can be enjoyed in Butler Lodge or in the adjoining picnic area. Please check the schedule for meal times and plan to arrive on time, as meals are served for one hour. A hot beverage bar, as well as fresh whole fruit, are available in the dining hall between meals through dinner.

Meal plan rates can be found here.

  • There is little to no cell phone service at Camp Pinewood. Our hope is that you’ll take some time to unplug while you’re here and soak in all that nature has to offer. However, when needed, there is Wi-Fi available at the Butler Lodge dining hall.

  • The camp store will be open at designated hours each day. We sell drinks, snacks, souvenirs, and some important items you may have left at home, such as toothbrushes, flashlights, and headlamps. The Camp Store accepts cash, check, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and AmEx).

  • Camp Pinewood supplies equipment for all of our activities. However, guests are welcome to bring their own for some activities.

Guests can bring their own fishing rods and tackle, but we do not permit guests to bring their own watercraft (canoes, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing boats, etc.).

Guests can bring their own longbow or recurve bow for archery, which must be securely locked when not at the range. Guests are required to follow all Camp Pinewood rules, including only using archery equipment when an instructor is present. All broadhead arrows and compound bows are not permitted.

If you have questions regarding other pieces of equipment, please email us before your visit!

  • Camp Pinewood is for the entire family, including beloved furry friends! Dogs are permitted at camp for an additional fee of $100. They must be fully vaccinated, friendly, and well-behaved. Dogs must be on-leash at all times and are not permitted at activity sites. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs, both inside and out of the cabins and lodges.

  • Camp Pinewood’s waterfront will be open during designated times throughout each day. A YMCA lifeguard must be on duty for guests to participate in any aquatic activities. If no lifeguard is present, the waterfront is closed, and guests are welcome to enjoy other areas of the camp!

Swimming and canoeing are generally not open at the same time. If canoeing is in session, the swimming area will be closed, and vice versa.

  • Camp Pinewood does not allow alcohol on site. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only.

  • Financial assistance, to the extent possible, is made available through the generosity of our supporters and donors. Awards are based on the number of people in your household and your total household income. If interested, fill out the Financial Assistance Application and submit it with your camper’s registration form. The minimum deposit payment for the chosen program is required.

  • Cancellation refunds will be given for the camp fee, minus the deposit, up until two weeks prior to arrival. There is no fee reduction for late arrivals.
