At the YMCA of Metro Chicago (the Y), a volunteer's time and talent can go a long way to support our programs and services.
The Y is the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Through its 65 locations and more than 100 extension sites, the Y of Metro Chicago provides programs and services to more than half a million children, families and adults across the city and suburbs. On an annual basis, the Y reaches 57,000 youth in urban and suburban settings.
The Y offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups. Y volunteers come together from all walks of life with a commitment to helping others and to share their skills and expertise. Each year, thousands of youth and adults throughout the city and suburbs volunteer their time to help the Y provide critical services to families and communities in need.
Individuals interested in volunteering with the Y can connect with one of our membership centers, early childhood centers or outreach programs across the metro Chicago area. Visit ymcachicago.org to find a YMCA near your home, school or workplace.
