Team YMCA Runs with Purpose at the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Earlier this month, Team YMCA proudly crossed the finish line at the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!

This year marked the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago’s fourth consecutive year as a Charity Partner in the Chicago Marathon. With heart, grit, and community spirit, our Team YMCA runners took on the 26.2-mile challenge while fundraising for the Y.

This year’s team was made up of passionate individuals who trained for months to champion the Y’s mission of connecting all people to their purpose, potential, and each other. From accessible swim lessons and youth summer camps to workforce development and mental wellness initiatives, every dollar raised supports the Y’s commitment to equity, opportunity, and belonging.

Thanks to the dedication of our amazing runners and their supporters, Team YMCA raised more than $80,000 before race day! These contributions directly support our diverse communities, impacting the lives of children, individuals, and families across Chicagoland and the Midwest.

Race day was filled with energy and encouragement. Supporters lined the route, especially at the Team YMCA Cheer Zone, where music, signs, and snacks helped fuel our runners through the toughest miles! The sense of community was palpable — every cheer, high-five, and donation reminded us why our runners worked so hard.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our runners, donors, volunteers, and cheerleaders. Your support makes it possible for the Y to continue being a place where everyone belongs and thrives. Find more photos from marathon day on the YMCA of Metro Chicago social media pages!

Want to help our YMCA runners go the extra mile? There’s still time to make a donation! Support Team YMCA through our 2025 Chicago Marathon fundraising page by Sunday, November 2.
