Foglia YMCA Unveils New Entrance and Lobby as Part of Comprehensive Renovation Journey
LAKE ZURICH, IL (October 28, 2025) — The Foglia YMCA has embarked on a comprehensive renovation journey to significantly enhance the overall member experience, highlighted by the opening of a newly designed entrance and lobby today. These upgrades mark a milestone in the Foglia Y’s multi-year modernization effort, which began with a series of facility improvements in 2023 and 2024 and continues with further investments through 2025.
The new entrance and lobby form the heart of this latest phase: a bright, welcoming arrival area designed to streamline access, improve ease of use, and reinforce the Y’s role as a vibrant community hub. From first contact at the door, members and guests will experience a refreshed environment with new flooring, fresh lighting, and a more welcoming overall layout.
“In every phase of this work, our goal is to make the Y more welcoming, accessible, and community-centered,” said Kimberly Bless, Executive Director of the Foglia YMCA. “We’re deeply grateful to the Foglia Family Foundation for its extraordinary generosity and continued belief in the Y’s mission. What’s Been Completed (2023–2024)
Over the last two years, the Foglia Y completed safety and experience-focused upgrades, including:
- Resurfacing of the parking lot and related site work;
- Pool system upgrades (filtration and automation);
- New concrete entrance and enhanced security infrastructure; and
- Exterior improvements, including an ADA-accessible playground as part of broader exterior renovations.
What’s New Now
Today, the Y is celebrating the opening of a new entrance and lobby, creating a brighter, more intuitive arrival experience and streamlining member services from the moment guests walk in.
“These renovations are more than building improvements. They’re investments in the people and communities we serve,” said Adam Alonso, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. “The Foglia YMCA is setting a strong example of how the Y continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of our members while staying true to our mission of strengthening community.”
