Swim Lessons Stage 2: WATER MOVEMENT Water Movement is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will learn independent front and back glides, and swim sequences to reach safety. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about finding help, reach or throw, don't go, and backyard pool safety. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Teen/Adult Water Movement and Stamina: YMCA teen and adult beginner swim lessons are designed for those with little or no swimming experience. Skills will include water acclimation and comfort, proper floating, breathing techniques, and basic swim strokes including front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke.

Captain registers team. Teams must have 7-10 players

Stroke Introduction: YMCA teen and adult intermediate swim lessons are designed to build stroke introduction and endurance. Participants should be able to swim 25 yards continuously and be comfortable in deep water. Skills will include proper lap swimming etiquette, endurance, stroke refinement of front and back crawl, and introduce breastroke, sidestroke, and treading water.

Our Youth Basketball class introduces both boys and girls to the fundamental skills of basketball, including ball-handling, shooting, and passing. This program emphasizes skill progression, helping participants develop their abilities while understanding the essentials of offensive and defensive transitions. With a focus on building confidence and teamwork, kids ages 6-11 will enjoy a fun and supportive environment as they learn the game.

Designed for beginners and those looking to improve, this program focuses on skill development and understanding movement on the court. With a supportive and encouraging environment, girls will build confidence and teamwork while progressing at their own pace. Perfect for ages 9-14, this class is an excellent way to get started in the sport or refine existing skills.

This full body strength program focuses on building muscle and toning for the summer by incorporating body weight movements, weights, and resistance exercise. Participants will track their results using progressive overload of training exercises to increase their strength over time.

Learn the skills and knowledge required to become a lifeguard, including how to recognize, prevent and respond quickly to aquatic emergencies. Learn CPR for the professional rescuer, AED and First Aid. Participants will receive certifications after attending all class sessions, passing all written exams, water skills and tests. Certifications are good for 2 years. Class fee includes lifeguard manual. Prerequisites: Participant must be age 15 or older and be able to pass pretest. (Pretest consists of: 300 yard swim using front crawl with rhythmic breathing and also using the breast stroke without stopping; swim 20 yards of either stroke, perform a surface dive and retrieve a ten pound brick in 10 feet of water and then return the brick 20 yards; and tread water for 2 minutes with hands out of the water.)

When schools are closed, structured activities and child care programs help to keep your child safe, engaged, and learning. Our School Days Out program is designed for children kindergarten through 6th grade and is a full day of activity for your child. Regardless of the program, our dedicated staff makes sure children are developing the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behavior, better health, and greater educational achievement.

Our Sports of All Sorts program is designed for toddlers to explore a variety of fun, instructor-led sports activities that help develop their physical motor skills. This program focuses on improving coordination, agility, and basic movement through playful games and exercises. It's not about mastering sports, but about giving little ones a joyful and active experience to build a strong foundation for future physical activity.

Safety is reinforced when students learn about the importance of lifeguard/adult supervision, asking permission before going into any body of water, and life jackets. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Swim Lessions Stage 3: WATER STAMINA Water Stamina is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will build endurance to perform the safety sequence of swim-float-swim up to a length of the pool. Treading water up to one minute and getting to safety in deep water will be reinforced through jump-push-turn-grab sequence. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about sun safety and calling 9-1-1. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Swim Lessons Stage 4: STROKE INTRODUCTION Stroke Introduction is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will be introduced to basic front and back crawl, as well as butterfly and breaststroke kicks. Students will also work on treading water endurance and be introduced to elementary backstroke. Safety will be reinforced when students learn about beach and boating safety and basic first aid practices. Goggles are recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Water Acclimation and Movement: This class is appropriate for preschool and school age participants. Students will become comfortable independently going underwater, front and back glides, and safely exiting the water. Safety is reinforced when students learn the importance of lifeguard/adult supervision, asking permission before going into any body of water, finding help, and lifejackets. Goggles are not recommended for this stage. The price indicated is a monthly rate. The monthly charge will continue while progressing through the stages and until you notify us that you wish to discontinue the lessons.

Stroke Development and Mechanics: This class is appropriate for school age participants. Students will learn all four competitive strokes and both resting strokes while working on endurance. As students master swimming techniques, they will be introduced to competitive shallow dives and turns. Safety will be reinforced when students learn basic first aid and CPR skills, the importance of rest, and of continued physical activity. Goggles are recommended for this stage.
