Meet Our Day Camp Team: Michael Monis

Michael Monis, Regional Senior Youth Program Director at the Irving Park YMCA, is a Chicago native from the North Side. His first experience with the Y was through the Youth Basketball League and began working at the Lincoln-Belmont YMCA after school in 1999. His favorite part about working at the YMCA is contributing to the growth and development of both the students and staff.

Q: What is your favorite part about Day Camp at the Y? 

A: The impressive volume of youth and staff that we are providing for all summer!

Q: What is your favorite memory from Day Camp at the Y?

A: There are countless fond memories, too many for any one to be my ultimate fav.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)? 

A: I wouldn’t wish for one — too much power… too much responsibility.

Q: What’s the last song you listened to? 

A: Whatever was playing on US 99.5.

Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list? 

A: To retire well!
