A CLOSER LOOK
Tina was a stay-at-home mother with four children when her husband lost his job last year. Her husband was unable to find new employment, so Tina re-entered the workforce. As summer approached, Tina grew concerned that she could not afford activities for her four children that would keep them active, happy and out of trouble.
This is when Tina came to the Fry Family YMCA. Because of its scholarship assistance program, the Fry Family Y was able to provide day camp to all four of Tina’s children throughout the entire summer. They were able to participate in the same activities their neighborhood peers did and Tina was able to have peace of mind, knowing that her children were thriving in a nurturing environment.

As a nonprofit organization committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Fry Family YMCA has been proud to help our neighbors learn, grow and thrive for 19 years.
Between the whistles of a sports league, the splash of a swim lesson and the smile that says “you’re welcome,” the Fry Family YMCA strengthens bodies, minds and communities. Where some see obstacles, we see opportunities for our members, volunteers, program participants and staff to make a difference.
Since 1995, the Fry Family YMCA serves south Naperville and surrounding communities. For more than 21,500 members, 140 volunteers and 697 program participants, the Fry Family YMCA is a destination where local children and families have the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve, and where people of all ages, interests and abilities can build and maintain healthy lifestyle habits.
At the Y, we strengthen community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility because we believe in nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving our community’s health and well-being and giving back and providing support for our neighbors. From fitness to wellness to community service, everything we do at the Y is an exercise in possibility.
There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. That’s because, in neighborhoods across Chicagoland, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver, positive change.
The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.
