Meet Our Day Camp Team: Alicia Burnside
Alicia Burnside, one of the Elmhurst YMCA’s Day Camp Counselors, hails from Minnesota but has family in Elmhurst, Illinois. She currently studies sports at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, close to Niagara Falls! Alicia loves playing sports, especially soccer and basketball, and hopes to work in the sports industry. This summer, she’s excited to meet new people at the Y!
Q: Why did you choose to become a Counselor for the Y?
A: I want to be able to engage with the [Elmhurst] community and meet new people.
Q: What do you like most about the work that the Y does?
A: The Y is inclusive and welcomes everyone of all ages and backgrounds.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A:I speak three languages (English, Chinese, and French).
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)?
A: Mind reading, because I think it would be cool to know what other people are thinking.
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: “Keith Whitley” by Morgan Wallen.
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A: Visit all seven continents.
