The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming active and developing healthy habits they will continue throughout their lives. In a Y sports program, your child will meet friends, learn new skills, improve his or her fitness and most importantly have fun! Whether it's gaining the confidence that comes with learning a new sport, building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, or refining and improving skills, participating in sports at the Y is a bout building the whole athlete, inside and out. Make-up classes are available for select classes. No refunds will be given when make-up classes are offered.


Preschool Sports Classes

Preschool Sports Skills (ages 3-5)

A great way to improve hand-eye coordination and introduce the ideas of sportsmanship and team play. Our instructors help build strong minds, bodies, and friendships while introducing and building skills with a new sport every two weeks. Click here to register.

Stinger Soccer (ages 4-5)

A developmental program for all youth players and all skill levels. Our trained and knowledgeable coaches will develop the physical skills and techniques your child needs to enjoy the game of soccer for life. Click here to register.

Tiny Tigers Beginner Taekwondo (age 2-4)

A fun, low-impact way to develop discipline, concentration, confidence and leadership, all while improving your flexibility, speed, strength and stamina. Click here to register.

Little Tigers Taekwondo (age 4-7)

Similar to Tiny Tigers, these classes are for beginners, white to yellow belts only. Click here to register.


Youth Sports Classes

Rock Monkeys (ages 6-12)

A marvelous class for kids that are inquisitive about the world of climbing. Kids will learn to climb, build confidence, and increase self-esteem. Click here to register.

Volleyball (ages 7-12)

Experienced coaches will focus on skills that include serving, passing, setting, hitting, and the rules of the game in a fun and non-competitive environment. Click here to register.

Y Ball Levels 1 & 2 (ages 5-11)

This basketball class is designed of work on the basic fundamentals of basketball such as passing, dribbling and movement. Click here to register.

Y Ball Levels 3 (ages 11-14)

We continue our commitment of teaching children the fundamentals of basketball, while competing in a fun and friendly environment. Each class focuses on improving passing, dribbling, and shooting. Click here to register.

Soccer Kickers (ages 6-8)

The Buehler YMCA soccer clinic is a developmental program for all youth players and all skill levels. Our trained and knowledgeable coaches will develop the physical skills and techniques your child needs to enjoy the game of soccer for life. All of our classes promote competing in a fun and friendly environment. We focus on the whole child. Click here to register.

Tigers Taekwondo (age 8-14)

These classes are for beginners, white to yellow belts only. Click here to register.

Youth Aikido Self Defense (age 6-13)

Aikido is a Japanese martial art that is an effective form of self-defense for students of all ages and fitness levels. You will learn how to avoid conflicts and defend yourself against a variety of attacks such as grabs, punches, kicks, and chokes. Aikido technique practice also improves balance, coordination and flexibility. Click here to register.


Youth Sports Leagues

Youth Basketball League (grades K-8)

The YMCA invented basketball 127 years ago, and it's still the best place to learn the sport today. Players will focus on improving passing, dribbling, and shooting skills. Practices will take place at Buehler YMCA with games at the Buehler YMCA, Foglia YMCA, and Lattof YMCA. Click here to register

Youth Soccer League (grades K-8)

A developmental program for all youth players and all skill levels. Our trained and knowledgeable coaches will develop the physical skills and techniques your child needs to enjoy the game of soccer for life. All teams will have one set practice night per week and one game a week with a playoff tournament at the end of the year (8 games, plus playoffs). Practice schedules will be announced. All teams will be guaranteed one practice the week prior to the league start date. Click here to register


Adult Sports

Adult Basketball League (ages 16+)

This recreational/competitive league will consist of 8 regular season games and playoffs for all teams at the end of the regular season. Our league will have modified IHSA rules with two patched referees per game as well as a scorer's table to keep track of statistics and run the scoreboard. If enough individual registrants express interest, we may form a team of individuals or ask existing teams to add an individual registrant. Click here to register.

Adult Pickleball League (ages 16+)

Aikido Self Defense (ages 14+)

Strength Through Jiu-Jitsu (ages 17+)

Strength Through Jiu-Jitsu is a women's only martial arts classes focused on helping participants reach their fitness goals and learn self-defense through the sport of Jiu-Jitsu. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art based on grappling, focusing on skills to control an opponent through techniques. Click here to register.
