Overview

At the McCormick YMCA, we believe that children deserve a fun-filled and meaningful summer day camp experience. Our camp has a expanded the outdoor space and provided more opportunities for programming, like gardening and theater. Our programs are committed to helping campers grow in spirit, mind and body, and reinforce the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Our staff will provide structured activities that take place on YMCA grounds as well as in neighboring parks.

Financial Assistance

The McCormick YMCA accepts Action for Children certificates. Action for Children is a child care financial assistance program provided by the Illinois Department of Human Service for working families. Families will need to provide household income information to qualify. Action for Children applications, re-determination forms and change of provider forms for the McCormick Tribune YMCA are available at our Membership Desk.

DON'T WAIT! The process for applying can take up to 45 days for new applicants to receive approval. The average time ranges from 10-15 days. We must have an approval letter before the first week of camp.

If you are not approved before the camp begins and you want your child to start, you must pay the full price. Once you've been approved, your payment will be credited toward your monthly co-pay. Once you are accepted you will be responsible for paying the parent co-pay. The only exceptions is if the family has an open case and can add the YMCA as an ADDED provider.

Please contact Action for Children at 773.823.1100 or actforchildren.org for more information.

Please note: Applications for Action for Children with our information are available at our Membership Desk. Applications are available on-line, but you will need information from our center to complete the application. Do not mail applications to the YMCA.

Parents are responsible for submitting all information to Action for Children.
