Kimberly Bless Appointed Foglia YMCA Executive Director

Lake Zurich, IL — The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago recently announced that Kimberly Bless has joined the organization  as Executive Director of the Foglia YMCA. In this role, Kimberly oversees the Foglia Y’s programs, services, and community engagement, along with development and management of the Foglia YMCA team.

“I am both humbled and excited by the opportunity to join the YMCA of Metro Chicago team and to serve as Executive Director of Foglia YMCA!” said Bless. “As an impact-driven organization, the Y remains at the forefront of advancing the holistic health and wellbeing of the Lake Zurich community — and of all the communities we serve — and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to take part in leading this effort every single day.”

Kimberly brings more than 15 years’ of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector to the Y, most recently serving as President & CEO for the Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. 
Previously she served as the Executive Director for the Northwest & Schaumburg Association for Commerce.

Kimberly has additionally been active in a number of civic and philanthropic organizations, including Food for Greater Elgin; Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois; and the Anderson Humane Society. She has also served as the Chair of the Illinois Governor’s Conference on Travel and Tourism; Chair of the Illinois Council of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (ICCVB); Legislative Chair for ICCVB; and as a member of the 2016 Chicago Olympic Bid Committee. 

In her spare time, Kimberly loves to travel with her husband, enjoys cooking for family and friends, reading a good book, and staying active via Pilates, yoga, kayaking and walking with her very energetic mini goldendoodle, Bubbles.
