The Y has fitness classes specifically designed for older adults. They give participants an opportunity to stay physically active or in some cases, to overcome their fear of exercise and begin being physically active.
Y Active Older Adult Fitness programs accommodate a wide variety of interests and functional abilities of older adults. Classes include Fit for Life, SilverSneakers, Silversneakers chair Yoga, Introduction of Yoga, Arthritis Foundations/YMCA Arthritis Aquatic Fitness, Aquacize,Aquacardio and Aqua Zumba.
Active Older Adults are encouraged to take part in a Fitness Consultation as well. Our fitness staff can help you navigate the Wellness Center, select appropriate fitness classes or personal trainers specializing in Older Adults.
