The Y is Thankful for Our Connection to You

Looking back on 2022, we at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago have a lot to be thankful for.

We’re thankful for the hundreds of thousands of individuals we’ve had the opportunity to serve this year across our membership centers, camps, community events, and program locations.

We’re thankful for the partners and friends who have empowered us to serve those individuals.

And we’re thankful for our renewed commitment to our mission: strengthening community by connecting all people to their purpose, potential, and each other.

And, yes, I know it’s not quite the end of 2022. But as a long-time overachiever, I wanted the Y to be among the first to offer year-end thanks to our partners and communities for your generosity, support, and goodwill.

Thanks to you, the Y has had a lot of highs this year, including cutting ribbons on in-center Tech Hubs, investing in facility upgrades to better serve our members and communities, and activating to provide humanitarian support for our newest neighbors.

You can read about all of these initiatives and more on our recently upgraded website! It’s another thing we’re thankful for, because it has made connecting with you — yes, you — easier than ever before, which is the Y’s ultimate goal.

Next week is Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement aimed at unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities. As your inbox fills with emails from the many worthy and effective nonprofit organizations reaching out to you, I hope that you will keep the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago in mind. Your support is our greatest strength, and your connection is our greatest fortune.

Yours in service,
Dorri
