The Magic Returns: Lake View YMCA's Third Annual Drag Bingo Night

The magic was back at the Lake View YMCA's third annual Drag Bingo Night, hosted on Sunday, June 1! This celebration brought an unforgettable evening of glamour, laughter, and community connection as the KiKi Queens returned to the Lake View Y stage.

"My background is in theater within the queer community, so supporting this cause has always been important to me," said Cassie, a local attendee. "I loved seeing the kids' reactions — they were so excited and so cute dancing!"

With performances full of humor, the KiKi Queens delivered family-friendly entertainment that had the whole room smiling, dancing, and shouting "Bingo!" From dazzling outfits to joyful sing-alongs, the performers created an inclusive atmosphere that welcomed people of all ages.

“We volunteer our time to give back to the community,” said Ginger Ambrosia, KiKi Queens cast member. “Because it's the first day of Pride Month, we wanted to make sure we show up and show out... Love is more powerful than hate. It's good to show up, be present, and make sure our voices are heard.”

Thank you to the KiKi Queens, who helped turn our fundraising event into pure magic. Between the show-stopping performances and infectious energy, they helped us raise funds that will directly support the Lake View Y's community programs.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick of Pride Month than with a full house of Y community and Lakeview community members all coming together to support the Lake View YMCA and celebrate our diverse community,” said Karen Dziagwa, Senior Executive Director, Lake View YMCA. “It was a beautiful reminder of the strength and unity within our community. We look forward to continuing this tradition and fostering an inclusive environment for all of Chicagoland.”
