Meet Our Day Camp Team: Lindsay Montgomery
Lindsay Montgomery, Association Director of Aquatics of the YMCA of Metro Chicago, grew up in Arlington Heights, where she graduated from Buffalo Grove High School. She studied Elementary Education at Bradley University and has been working at the Y for five years. She loves forming relationships with families while providing quality and affordable programs for the Y community.
Q: What is your favorite part about Day Camp at the Y?
A: The variety of activities and camps that we offer — there is something for everyone!
Q: What is your favorite memory from Day Camp at the Y?
A: Getting a dunk tank and [giving] each camper the opportunity to dunk their counselor. Also, the Friday BBQ’s are always fun.
Q: What are you most proud of in your career so far?
A: I have this new and amazing opportunity with the [YMCA] to improve the quality of programming in aquatics, as well as continue to grow.
Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A: I am a cancer survivor.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)?
A: Probably flight or teleportation because I would really like to see the world.
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: “Levels” by Avicii.
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
Travel to the Great Barrier Reef and see some great white sharks.
