50 Marathons in 50 States: Ranjeet Singh

Hey, what’s that RV doing at the Y?  

Allow us to introduce you to Ranjeet Singh, an exceptional athlete and unwavering advocate of the YMCA, and his fully decked out RV!  

Over the course of two years, Ranjeet is determined to conquer 50 marathons in all 50 states, embarking on a remarkable journey in an RV and making inspiring stops at YMCA locations throughout the country. Yes, 50 marathons in 50 states. That’s 1,310 miles just in marathons, not including any training or “fun” runs!  

Ranjeet’s next marathon is on October 8, alongside Team Y, for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. For the weeks leading up to Marathon, you can find Ranjeet and his RV at the Indian Boundary YMCA (September 19 – September 22) and Buehler YMCA (September 25 – October 6).  

Ranjeet’s dedication has led him to temporarily abandon his normal home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and lay claim to a set of wheels for the next two years. Ranjeet has even gone as far as to attend an RV certification course in Texas in order to educate himself on the ins and outs of living in, maintaining, and repairing an RV.  

Ranjeet credits the Granite YMCA to much of his athletic success. He attributes the supportive and strong community to his ability to set personal goals and achieve them. He even learned to swim as an adult in order to compete in an Ironman Triathlon.  

“Traveling across the country, participating in 50 marathons, and supporting the Y has been among the greatest accomplishments in my life,” he said. “I’ve been fortunate to meet so many individuals and committed Y community members through my travels and they keep me moving and contributing to the greater wellbeing of our communities.”
