Before and After School Programs

The YMCA's before and after school programs are more than just a child care program. They are an enrichment program designed to meet the developmental needs of children with an emphasis on experiential learning, social and emotional development and the promotion of healthy living all while providing a fun, safe and nurturing environment for children. In our program, parents have the peace of mind knowing that their child is in a supportive environment focused on developing their child's true potential.

The Irving Park YMCA provides before school programming for Portage Park, Belding, Disney II Elementary, Gray and Sabin Schools. The cost per month is $130 for members and $160 for non-members. The program begins at 7 a.m. and will get your child to school on time!

The Irving Park YMCA provides after school programming for the following schools: Belding, Disney II, O.A. Thorp, Gray, Murphy, Portage Park, Beaubien and Edison Regional Gifted Center. Prices and times vary by site. Click here to register for Before School Programs   -OR- Click here to register for After School Programs.

School Days Out (ages 5-12)

Like most parents, you're probably already making plans for this year's holidays. But what about all those days in between, when school is out, but adults have to go back to work? When schools are closed, working parents can turn to the YMCA of Metro Chicago's School Days Out program to keep children safe, engaged, and learning— including weather-related closings and Spring and Winter Breaks. You don't even have to be a YMCA member to attend! We offer a full day of entertainment, including field trips, games, creative art experiences, and more.

Please contact Youth and Family Director Ali Greenman at 773.326.2627 or agreenman@ymcachicago.org for registration information!
