Meet Our Day Camp Team: Jadyn Ginther

Jadyn Ginther, one of the Indian Boundary YMCA’s Day Camp Counselors and a Unit Leader, is a recent graduate of Elmhurst University, where she majored in biology and played volleyball. She plans to take a year off to work and apply to masters programs for her MPH and MBA. She is an avid reader and loves to bake! This summer as a Day Camp counselor, she is looking forward to the field trips.

Q: Why did you choose to become a Counselor for the Y?

A: I love working with kids and having leadership opportunities. Being a unit lead provides me both!

Q: What do you like most about the work that the Y does?

A: I love working with people around my own age! It makes work not feel like work!

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be (and why)?

A: Teleportation — I could instantly go to the beach!

Q: What’s the last song you listened to?

A: “At the end of a Bar” by Chris Young and Mitchell Tenpenny.

Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?

A: Skydiving!

Q: Anything else you want to share with us? We love random tidbits and facts!

A: I have my own chocolate chip cookie recipe, I was born in Honolulu, and I have a black belt in karate!

The YMCA of Metro Chicago believes in the power of play. We play for fun and for progress. Day Camp at the Y empowers Chicagoland youth to do mighty things — making friends, developing new skills, creating life-shaping experiences, and so much more!

Our experienced and talented counselors and staff are committed to making sure your camper experiences a full day of play, exploration, learning, and personal growth. Here at the Y, we want to show off our Day Camp team’s amazing talents and contributions to our community — and find even more talented, community-oriented individuals who want to work at the YMCA!
