4 great ways to enjoy time, right now, at your local Y
UPDATE 1/4/21: Out of an abundance of caution, lap swim will now be restricted to individual use. Furthermore, youth aged 12-13 will need a permission slip or parental signature to complete our check-in process.
The Y of Metro Chicago is committed to being a safe, trusted place for families like yours to stay healthy and active—even during a pandemic.
We’ve put a reservation system in place at all our membership centers to maintain capacity limits, ensure social distancing, and make visiting the Y as safe and seamless as possible. Much like making an online reservation at a restaurant, individuals and families can reserve time at their local Y by visiting our website or using our mobile app.
Here are four ways you and your whole family can enjoy a reservation at your local Y:
- Family Open Gym, one of our newest offerings, lets you reserve up to an hour of private full gym and basketball court access for your entire household! With routine cleanings between each reservation, this is a great option for families looking to shoot some hoops or exercise together.
- When you reserve Family Tinkering Lab time at your local Y, your whole household will have access to a clean, sanitized room equipped with STEAM activities. If you’re looking for a safe way to spend quality time outside the home while nourishing your family’s creativity and curiosity, this offering’s for you.
- You don’t have to wait for beach weather to enjoy aquatic activities! With a lap swim reservation, up to four members of the same household can now share their reserved lap lane. Please note that, with locker rooms closed due to COVID-19 safety protocols, we recommend that you come dressed and ready to swim 10 minutes before your reservation.
- While in-person fitness classes at the Y are currently suspended due to Tier 3 mitigations, general fitness use reservations mean you can work out at our state-of-the-art facilities, which have been reconfigured to ensure routine cleanings and proper spacing between exercise machines.
Visit our Reopening Resource Center to make a reservation, or contact your local Y for more information on their current offerings.
