Staff Spotlight: Giovanni Baeza “Gio”

If you have taken an evening class at the Y in the last 12 years you probably know Gio! He has been with us since he was in high school in 2006. He is our volunteer greeter. Gio is always the life of the party. He has a way of bringing out the best in everyone around him. He is never in a bad mood and always makes members and guests feel welcomed.

Gio is a music buff; he knows his tunes and can sing along to almost anything. His favorite part about being a part of the Y family is getting to see everyone. He has made some great friends that he gets to see outside of the Y too. When he is not at the Y he enjoys cheering on his favorite team the Chicago Cubs!

Gio is a part of our Y family and we are so fortunate to have such a positive person on our team. Make sure you stop by the desk on Monday and Wednesday evenings and say hi. Gio loves a good fist bump too!
