Kick off the school year by celebrating Black joy and excellence at the 94th annual Bud Billiken Parade!
At the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, we share the same focus on education and fostering potential in youth, helping them unlock growth and brighter futures. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that this year, the Y will be participating in the parade and festival again (last year, our President & CEO, Dorri McWhorter, served as an honorary Grand Marshal)!
Join us on Saturday, August 12, at 10 a.m. at the Bud Billiken Parade, starting on the intersection of E. 35th St. and Martin Luther King Dr., and then visit our booth at the picnic and festival in Washington Park!
The largest African American parade in the United States, the Bud Billiken Parade spans generations of families who have participated since its inception. Together, we’re celebrating the start of the school year with high energy and enthusiasm!
