The South Side YMCA offers a variety of free classes and programs to our members. We encourage you to check out our Aqua Blast and Liquid Motion classes held weekdays in the mornings and evenings. You do not need to know how to swim, we just require that you wear and appropriate swim suit and you’re ready for a great work out!
Why water aerobics vs. land?
Water aerobics is a great place for individuals to start who are new to working out or haven’t exercised in a long time. The water creates a resistance and provides a great cardiovascular workout for women and men. Often times water aerobics is thought to only be good for active older adults, however it can be beneficial to anyone. Just like with most things; the more you put in to it, the more you get out of it.
