According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke are somewhere between 250,000 to 350,000 diagnosed cases of MS in the United States. Sadly, nearly 200 new are diagnosed each week. Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Though MS is most common in women, it is still unknown what exactly causes it.

Three days a week the South Side YMCA offers a water aerobics class for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis. Though the class is geared towards individuals with MS, it is also a great class for those with arthritis and limited mobility.
