Besides the obvious benefits of promoting health and fitness, physical education has served many purposes in the YMCA. When youth participate in sports, they have a unique opportunity to develop social skills. They learn about teamwork, leadership and creating friendships, which teaches values like empathy and compassion. When working in groups, children can learn to solve interpersonal problems and maintain cooperative relationships.
We have several new sports classes launching this winter for all ages and interests including soccer, flag football, t-ball, floor hockey, dodgeball, volleyball and girls-only basketball. To see a full list of the offerings afforded to you, click here.
