Girls Who Code Club 👩🏾‍💻👾

Program a future in tech while using computer science to make positive change in your community!

Since 1995, the percentage of computer scientists that are women has dropped from 37% to 24% today. Closing this gender gap is an essential part of promoting digital equity — which is why the South Side YMCA is incredibly excited to partner with Girls Who Code to host our Girls Who Code club.

Join us on Fridays from 5 to 6 p.m., starting April 28, for this free eight-week program, where you’ll learn the concepts that form the basis of all programming languages and build coding skills to complete projects that solve real-world problems.

At Girls Who Code club, we’re redefining what a programmer looks like and does by creating a safe and supportive environment where girls can see themselves as computer scientists. Whether you’re new to coding or already a tech whiz, we encourage all girls in grades 6 through 12 to participate.
