At the Sage YMCA, we regard each child as a unique individual, to be understood, guided, encouraged and valued. Our programs provide children the ability to learn through play, and confidently explore and build a positive self-image. Our teachers are professionally trained and DCFS-certified, with continual professional development to ensure the best and most current practices in the classroom. We are proud to implement The Creative Curriculum, which is fully aligned with state and national Early Learning Standards. The curriculum focuses on the interests of the children, which creates the study topics of our lessons.
The Creative Curriculum develops social, emotional and physical development, language, literacy, math and cognitive skills. The curriculum also includes science, social studies and the arts to develop the whole child based on their individual developmental needs. Our all day and half day program options give children an opportunity to fully engage and explore in a child centered environment that supports the unique needs of each child.

Our Parent-Tot classes promote early development and provide a strong foundation for a child’s critical first years. Weekly classes help your child achieve new milestones and prepare them for more advanced challenges during each stage of growth. As a participating parent you will be right there to celebrate every discovery with smiles, hugs and giggles.
Our Super Tot classes promote Early Learning development and independence. We believe in creating an environment that will inspire each child to reach his or her fullest potential in the areas of social, emotional, physical and academic development. Parent attendance is optional, but all parents must stay in the Sage Y during class time and be available for toilet needs. Click here to register
One of the newer educational terms that we see frequently in the news is STEM education. But what exactly is STEM education and is it appropriate for preschoolers? STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math. Preschoolers spontaneously engage in STEM activities indoors and outdoors. This program will enhance children’s opportunities to engage in STEM learning and develop their critical thinking skills. Click here to register
