Classes and teams for a wide range of ages.

Leaning Tower YMCA Gymnastics classes are designed to give a full work out while improving flexibility, coordination, balance and strength. We also work on listening skills, following directions and social skills. Children use all of the gymnastics equipment at every level and children receive exceptional instruction from well trained instructors.

Curriculum is structured to mirror USA Gymnastics levels and is ongoing so joining at any time is possible. Children are evaluated at the end of every session so they are always in the right class for their development needs. We also offer free evaluations with a scheduled appointment.

Overview of our Gymnastics Program

Parent and Tot (Ages: 2-5)

An introductory class to develop strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness while learning gross motor skills for gymnastics. All equipment is introduced. Parents or caregivers are required to participate with their children.


Preschool Gymnastics (4-5)

This is a great introductory class for those tiny tots who are ready to tumble and build their gymnastic skills on their own, but aren't quite ready for the beginner-level class.


Beginner Gymnastics (Ages: 6-12)

Instructors will build on skills from the previous level. Participants will be educated on gymnastics safety and introduced to Olympic apparatus. They will learn coordination, flexibility, proper form and tumbling techniques to improve their gymnastics skills. Participants will develop coordination, body awareness and gross motor skills while working on listening skills, following directions and social skills. Children will use all gymnastics equipment. Curriculum is progressive with a different gymnastics position and concentration each week.


Intermediate Gymnastics (Ages: 6-12)

Participants will focus on skills, safety and confidence. Participants will develop strength and flexibility that will correlate with the skills and techniques they are working on in classes. Instructors will focus on correct posture, balance and progressive in preparation for the next level. Classes give a full workout while improving flexibility, coordination, balance, strength, self-esteem and gymnastics skills. Advanced Gymnastics (Ages: 6-12)

Participants must be evaluated by Head Coach prior to taking this class. Instructors will provide positive coaching, direct and indirect instruction and fundamentals for USAG level 4 training. They will coach proper form and posture techniques, encourage and motivate the gymnasts to be successful.
