Fitness Classes

The YMCA offers a wide variety of fee based and free fitness classes for members. We also allow non-members to register for many of these classes (some require registration and fees for non-members). You can find all class descriptions and information below:


Y Wellness Consultations

At the Y, you’re never alone in your fitness journey. We’re here to help every step of the way, including a 100% free, one-hour session with a trained YMCA professional to identify the health, fitness, and wellness goals that matter to you. We won’t just provide you with YMCA resources and routines, we’ll help you separate fitness facts from myths and discover a positive health outlook together — for you and your family.

Personal Training

It’s scientifically proven that people who collaborate with a personal trainer are more likely to achieve their health and fitness goals. At the Y, we believe a safe, supportive, positive personal training relationship works best, so you’ll never have to fear an intimidating, “drill sergeant” atmosphere when you walk through our doors. Whether your goal is to lose weight, build strength, run a marathon, or simply live healthier, our trainers are here to help.

Kid's Yoga (ages 6-11)

Through a creative mix of music, stories and yoga-based games, your child will practice this fun yet challenging noncompetitive form of physical fitness. Your child will increase strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, focus, confidence and learn how to stay relaxed.

AOA Cardio

Get moving and enjoy the health benefits of low intensity routines designed to improve cardiovascular health while having fun and staying active.

AOA Strength

Getting started and getting more out of your day-to-day activities is the focus. A variety of equipment will be used and modifications will be given.

Bodypump

BODYPUMP® is a weights class for absolutely everyone. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition (reps), BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout that burns lots of calories.

Bodypump Express

Experience the full class, in half the time! BODYPUMP® is a weights class for absolutely everyone. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition (reps), BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout that burns lots of calories.

Core Strength

Challenge yourself with a workout focusing on all of the core muscles. Build your strength and your confidence in this class! Recommended all fitness levels.

Full Body Conditioning

Get it all when you join us for this spectacular blend of cardio and strength training. Class will consist of a full body strength workout along with cardio intervals and finish with core work and stretching.

Full Body Strength

This simple, easy-to-follow strength workout challenges every major muscle using a variety of equipment. Increase your lean body mass while reducing your body fat in this full body workout. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

Indoor Cycle

Instructors will lead you through an exhilarating ride designed to improve overall fitness while increasing performance with focus on endurance, strength, interval and all-terrain training. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

Low Impact

Whatever your ability, exercise should be a part of your life. This class will work the entire body. Class will begin with a warm-up, incorporate cardiovascular and muscle toning exercises throughout, and end with gentle stretching.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is the floor work version of the Pilates method and uses your body weight as the primary source of resistance. Focus is placed on the precise movements of your core muscles to improve strength, stability, posture, balance and flexibility. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

Power Hour

Challenge your entire body with full range of resistance and cardio exercises using a variety of equipment.

Pure Cardio

Improve your cardiovascular health, join us for a high energy, calorie burning, cardio party.

SilverSneakers® Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support. This class is geared towards active older adults and beginner exercisers; no experience is necessary.

SilverSneakers® Yoga

SilverSneakers® Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is geared towards active older adults and beginner exercisers; no experience is necessary.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga: Center the breath and the body, align the physical and mental by practicing stillness and gentle movement for extended periods of time. Promotes deep relaxation of body and mind. This class is excellent for beginners to experienced yoga practitioners.

WERQ®

Dance your way to a healthier fitter you. This fiercely fun dance fitness class uses pop, rock, and hip-hop music and easy to follow, high-energy dance steps. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

Yoga

Yoga is a great compliment to any fitness routine as it promotes relaxation, increases strength and improves flexibility. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

Zumba

Be prepared to move to hypnotic Latin and international rhythms. You’ll enjoy this awe-inspiring, muscle-pumping, caloric-burning blast as you lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary


FEE BASED CLASSES

Heavy Ropes & Kettlebell Bootcamp

Carve out a toned body, build your cardiovascular and strength endurance with high ropes intensity interval training. Intensity is key in this high energy, fun workout! We will incorporate heavy ropes, kettlebells, body weight and cardio training to make you stronger and faster. During warmer months, this class may be help outside.

Power Kettlebell

Different from KettleWorX, this kettlebell program focuses on power and Olympic weight lifting moves. TRX Bootcamp This class takes your workout to a whole new level utilizing the TRX suspension trainer along with additional tools to build total body strength and cardiovascular endurance while increasing flexibility and challenging your core all at the same time. Beginner TRX

TRX is suspension training system that harnesses your own body weight to deliver a total-body workout. Take your performance to the next level by developing your strength utilizing functional movements and dynamic positions that challenge your back, shoulders, chest, hips and legs. WATER FITNESS CLASSES (ages 16+)

Deep Water Aerobics

This class is a great class for anyone who is comfortable in deep water and needs a “no impact” class. Work aerobically while toning core muscles as you stabilize your body position in the water.

H20 Interval

A low impact, high-energy challenge for participants of all ages, skill and fitness levels. Jump in and make a splash with this dynamic cardiovascular workout that tones and tapers the entire body.

Aqua Zumba

The Aqua Zumba program integrates the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness. Participants will perform dance moves to a variety of rhythms for a full body aerobic workout.

Silver Splash

For a soothing exercise environment, try this water exercise class. Classes are held in shallow water, so you don’t need to know how to swim. A SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to increase strength, and for stability and balance in the water. Members with arthritis or other joint conditions will find the water comforting, and the non-impact workout invigorating. This is a great class for those just getting started in water exercise.

Deep Water Cadence Running (additional fee)

Deep water cadence running is a deep-water running class that uses evidence based, cadence specific workouts to achieve peak athletic performance. Whether you’re training for a run, recovering from an injury or prone to injuries, deep water running is an impact-free way to engage your entire body while building up your endurance and cardiovascular conditioning.
