A few of us may have thought our beloved William (Bill) Fallin, who serves on our Membership team, a little crazy when he shared his plan to jump into the half-frozen waters of Lake Michigan earlier this month.
Participating in the “Polar Plunge Benefiting Special Olympics Chicago” has been on Bill’s “bucket list” for two years. He’s been involved with the Special Olympics since the 1980s when he helped organize and ride in the Greater Gwinnett Century Ride in Georgia. It was one of the first 100-mile rides that Bill completed in less than five hours.
“I’ll never forget it,” said Bill. “We had a great turnout, including former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, and raised a lot of good funds for the Gwinnett County Special Olympics!”
Join us in congratulating Bill on taking the plunge and raising nearly $500 for the Special Olympics.
