Toy Drive to Benefit District 204 Children for Christmas

November 02, 2017

Donations will be accepted through December 8th"

This year Fry Family YMCA will be partnering with Gift Mart Wheatland Community in holding a toy drive to benefit under resourced children right here in Indian Prairie School District 204!  These families come from households in financial stress who would otherwise not be able to afford gifts for the holidays.

The philosophy behind Gift Mart is to give a hand up versus a hand out during the holiday season.  Gift Mart offers families a way to preserve dignity by setting up a store of donated toys and inviting families to shop and purchase those toys for $2 each. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of each toy will be donated back to each participating school for their children’s programming and educational materials.

All we ask is that you donate a new, unwrapped toy valued $18-20 for children ages 5-12.  No stuffed animals or board games, please.  There will be a drop-off box located inside the Fry Family YMCA pre-school from November 9 – December 8th.

This year, Gift Mart is hoping to collect 3,000 toys to help over 1,000 children this Christmas.  Please help to make a difference for a local child this Christmas.

Thank you!
