Jimmy comes to us from Burr Ridge, Illinois, where he previously worked at the Burr Ridge Park District. He worked there for 12 years as their Assistant Athletic Coordinator. Flag Football, Baseball, and Basketball were the main sports that were the main focus.
Jimmy attended St. Xavier University in Chicago, IL where he majored in Communications with an emphasis in Business Organization. He was awarded a four year athletic scholarship to play baseball at the university.
He chose to come to the Y because of the opportunity to work with kids and the opportunity to impact the lives of children in a positive way.
His vision for the sports department is to have the best athletics in the area. In doing this, he is hoping to provide the kids a fun, safe, and informative environment that sets the kids up for success at the next level. Whether this is in basketball, baseball, or flag football it does not matter. Summer Camps will be the talk of the beginning of school years to come.
Two of Jimmy’s favorites quotes are:
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” –Michael Jordan
“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” –Henry Ford
