Don’t Forget: Summer Day Camps Are Just 4 Weeks Away!
April 25, 2017
Early June is the start of YMCA summer day camp season, and registration is now open. Whether you're looking for a traditional day camp experience, or a specialty sports, STEM, arts or travel-based camp, the Y has an option for you."
Chicago may have just started to warm up, but we’re only four weeks away from YMCA summer day camps in early June. Whether you’re looking for a traditional day camp experience or a specialty camp focusing on a particular activity like swimming or sports, registration is open now.
In addition to specialty camps for sports like basketball and soccer, YMCAs across the city and the suburbs also have STEM, arts and travel-based camps like the ones listed below.
Detective Camp at the Indian Boundary YMCA. Learn some basic spy techniques! Campers will happily shut down the video games for this super-sleuth experience. Children will be so engaged in this imagination camp that they wont even know they’re gaining important skills in deductive reasoning and logical thinking.
Weird Science Camp at the Irving Park YMCA. Is your child interested in gizmos and gadgets? Chemical reactions? Forming hypotheses? This is the camp for them! Your camper will spend the week creating experiments and learning all about mad science!
Robotics Camp at the South Side YMCA. We use fun, hands-on projects to get your child’s creativity flowing. Your child will learn how to build and program robots with LEGOs and software, all while making friends, developing new skills and having a great time.
Windy City Travel Camp at the Sage YMCA. Travel to Chicago to see the sites! This camp will visit locations such as Millennium Park, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Navy Pier, the Chicago Botanic Gardens, the Shedd Aquarium, Wrigley Field, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Adler Planetarium and Lincoln Park Zoo.
Fashionista Camp at the Elmhurst YMCA. These campers will learn everything there is about being a fashionista. Join us as we have tea parties, paint nails, have our own fashion show, do art projects and so much more! On Friday campers will travel to the famous American Girl Cafe at Water Tower Place for a royal brunch.
This is just a tiny sampling of more than 100 YMCA day camps available across Chicagoland this summer. Click here to learn more.
