6 Ways to Help Your YMCA This Summer

This summer, your local YMCA center will be is working hard to provide programs and classes of all kinds for every member of your family. However, many of our efforts depend on the support of our many members and community partners.

If you’d like to support your local YMCA associations, here are some ways you can help:

  1. Volunteer your time. The Y is always on the lookout for youth mentors, team coaches, event staff and anyone with a special skill looking to teach a class at a YMCA center. For information on how to become a volunteer, visit your local YMCA center or fill out these forms for individuals and groups.
  2. Share your story! Let us know how the Y has helped you and your family achieve your health and lifestyle goals. Your story can help inspire thousands of others to push forwards and do so much more. You can also submit a public review on your YMCA’s Facebook page!
  3. Donate. Visit the YMCA of Metro Chicago’s donation page to make a gift to your local YMCA center. Your support will make a difference in the lives of children and families in your community.
  4. Shop using AmazonSmile. Support the Y indirectly by visiting the AmazonSmile site, selecting “YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago,” and a percentage of your total will be donated (at no extra cost to you) towards our YSVP and Achievers programs.
  5. Become a YMCA member! By becoming a YMCA member, you play a part in all that the Y does for Chicago. As a non-profit organization, revenue made from membership dues go back into surrounding neighborhoods and into funding more programs to promote healthy living, violence prevention and social responsibility.
