Governor Bruce Rauner has declared May 2 as Kiwanis Day in Illinois in recognition of the 100th Anniversary of Kiwanis International and the new playground at the YMCA Camp Independence, which is being built by the Illinois-Eastern Iowa (I-I) District of Kiwanis.

Our communities look to the Governor and Illinois General Assembly to reinstate critical dollars in the 2016 state budget for Teen REACH and the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). We call on all Illinoisans to appeal to their legislators to fully fund these vital programs. If they do not, the long-term cost will be much higher.

Love Your Heart to March Madness Challenge

Help your Metro Chicago YMCA win the Love Your Heart to March Madness Challenge. Every YMCA in the association will compete head-to-head to average the most minutes of activity. The American Heart Association recommends a minimum of 30 minutes a day of activity 5 times a week, so your goal is to log a minimum of 150 minutes of activity each week of the challenge.
