See how the Y has changed Mrs. Cleveland's life"

The YMCA attracts many different people for many different reasons. Our culture, staff andenvironment has proven to be magnetic to both individuals looking for a healthier lifestyle and others who may have not had the intentions to join the YMCA. Here at the South Side YMCA a simple tour or a visit can turn into a life changing experience. Mrs. Rozetta Cleveland first came into the YMCA in January of 2012 as an assistant to her sister, who joined the YMCA as a means of therapy for her back. Mrs. Cleveland and her sister attended a water aerobics class and were very pleased with the class. Since then Mrs. Cleveland and her sister have been faithful members at the YMCA. In august 2015 Mrs. Cleveland and her sister came to the South Side YMCA. Though they were reluctant because of the distance of travel, Mrs. Cleveland and her sister were blown away by the facility, the environment and the amenities. I had a chance to sit down with Mrs. Cleveland and ask her a few questions.Q1: What is your favorite thing to do here at the South Side YMCA? A: I really love the aqua aerobics class. It has helped with the stiffness in my knee.Q2: What have you gained since joining the YMCA?A: I have met a lot of good people since joining the YMCA, some of my best friends to this day I met here. I have gained a healthier lifestyle, support system and family.Q3. What would you tell people about the YMCA?A: I would encourage everyone to join the YMCA, whether it’s for health reasons, social reasons or just a good place to bring your family. The YMCA is a place that when you leave you feel better inside and out.Mrs. Cleveland is now one of the most regular members here at the South Side YMCA, even more than her sister, who was the original reason why she stepped foot in the YMCA. The YMCA has a place for everyone and can benefit individuals in so many different ways. This is one of many members that the YMCA has touched and impacted their life for the better. Feel better inside and out here at the South Side YMCA.
