Community Outreach
Our mission doesn’t live in a building. It’s far too big and too important to be confined to just one place. Day in and day out, we’re out there, in the community, helping kids and families, one at a time.
We’re spending quite a bit of time in our growing Latino community, bridging cultural differences, welcoming them to the Y family and giving them a place to belong.
It’s not easy and we could sure use your support, but it's easily, some of the most important work we do.
The Rauner Family Y Center provides:
- After-school programs for children in need
- A safe haven from gang activity
- Year-round recreation despite the lack of open green space (yes, we’re creative)
- Summer day camp for 150 kids
- Sports mini-clinics
- Mentoring opportunities
- Character-development programs
