Commit to Be Fit
Meet with a Fitness Adviser to identify your personal fitness needs, then set goals and a plan to achieve them.
Our Commit to be Fit program offers three levels of support — Healthy Living Consultation, Orientation and Support and 12-week Behavior Change program. We can assist you in selecting the right program for your needs.
In our Commit to be Fit programs, your Fitness Adviser will help you to identify your fitness needs, identify your short term and long term goals and assess your current fitness level. With this information, they will help you to determine what fitness and wellness options are available to you not only in our fitness center but the entire facility. With Commit to be Fit you have the option of 1–4 appointments, depending on your needs.
Healthy Living Consultation
The Healthy Living Consultation is recommended for members already committed to living a healthy lifestyle. The primary function of the Healthy Living lifestyle consultation is to exchange information about the member’s lifestyle habits, medical history, interests in activities and programs and a short facility and exercise equipment orientation if required.
Orientation and Support
The Orientation and Support program is for members that may or may not have previous experience in a fitness facility. It’s recommended for those that have some experience with working out and have some knowledge of a healthy living lifestyle, but would benefit from a little more assistance from the Fitness Coach and other Y employees in other program areas. You will review information on your lifestyle habits, medical history, interests in activities and programs, plus additional information about other support systems at the Y such as personal training, fitness classes or aquatics. You also have the option to do two or more review sessions on the use of cardiovascular and weight equipment.
The 12 week Behavior Change
This program offers 4 meetings with a Fitness Adviser over the course of a 12-week period. Meetings include an orientation on the equipment, a review of short- and long-term goals and identifying barriers.
Each appointment will gradually build your fitness routine to fit your needs. Your coach will also teach you about other options for exercise such as classes, aquatics, personal training or even signing up with a group or buddy to work out with.
