YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago Hosts Family-Fun Event
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago today hosted a celebration commemorating the dedication of the Sage YMCA of Metro Chicago, formerly the YMCA of McHenry County in recognition of a generous donation from the Foglia Family Foundation.
Vince and Pat Foglia, after whom the Foglia YMCA in Lake Zurich is named, have been ongoing, strong financial supporters of the Y of Metro Chicago. Vince Foglia is chairman and CEO of Sage Products, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of hundreds of healthcare products sold to hospitals throughout the world, located in Cary, Illinois.
“I believe in the Y’s mission and the work they do every day to support kids and families across Chicagoland and the collar counties,” said Vince Foglia. “A big part of our culture at Sage Products is steeped in the same core values as the Y, making this a great partnership and I look forward to this facility serving the McHenry community in the years to come.”
“At Sage, we pride ourselves on being leaders in the community and doing everything we can to make a difference in the lives of our customers and associates,” said Scott Brown, president and COO of Sage Products, Inc. “Our work with the Y supports this effort.”
The generous donation helped the new Sage YMCA continue delivering the Y’s mission to the McHenry County community.
“This extraordinary partnership with the Foglia family and Sage Products is a perfect fit because of the family and company’s commitment to and support of the Y’s mission to foster youth development, healthy living and social responsibility to the McHenry community,” said Richard Malone, president & CEO, YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. "Through this partnership, we are investigating improving the facility in a substantial way."
Saturday’s celebration featured music from Geneva Red and The Roadsters Blues Band, a performance by the world-famous Jesse White Tumblers and the opportunity to meet the Power Rangers. This free event was open to the public.
