March 30, 2016 — The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago will celebrate the opening of the new YMCA Center, a 60,000 square-foot-facility where research meets practice, on Tuesday, April 5, at 1030 W. Van Buren Street in Chicago's bustling West Loop neighborhood. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the culmination of two years of planning and construction of a state-of-the-art facility that provides much more than the nonprofit’s new headquarters.
November 17, 2015 — The YMCA of Metro Chicago is announcing its intent to donate the Leaning Tower replica to the Village of Niles, which has leased and maintained the building since 1995. The Village of Niles will restore the replica and pursue historical landmark designation
October 16, 2015 — The YMCA of Metro Chicago will host more than 500 supporters, donors and friends at its second annual The Y. So Much More Recognition Dinner at the Four Seasons Chicago on Thursday, October 29, 2015. With a focus on early education and care and youth development, the YMCA celebrates its role in strengthening children, individuals and families at every life stage.
September 03, 2015 — Sheriff Dart and providers call on Springfield to end cuts to kids and communities. After school services have shut down throughout the city and state, and working families are being denied childcare. Youth development and public safety are being harmed as a result.
July 28, 2015 — As part of the Interior Department’s leadership of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Outside initiative to engage the next generation of outdoor stewards and inspire millions of young adults to experience the great outdoors, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell joined Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Dick Malone, President & CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, today to announce that Chicago has been selected as one of the first 50 cities to participate in the nationwide movement.
