Parent & Teacher Reviews

IF CAMP COULD LAST FOREVER

"I was a little concerned that my daughter would be homesick while away at camp and that she might become sad. When camp was over, there were certainly tears in her eyes- she had been crying because she didn’t want camp to be over! If I had to see tears, these particular ones made me smile." –Lisa Wick

COOPERATION AND TEAMWORK

"It's a great place for our only child to learn how to cooperate and become part of a group." –Parent

"Camp helps us to put our season in perspective. With the help of the staff at Pinewood we develop team skills and life skills that focus on all-around student athlete. This year will be our fourth at Pinewood, and the whole team is looking forward to it!" –Fr. Phil Witkowski, Shelby High School Head JV Football Coach, Shelby MI.

"Camp Pinewood is the perfect place for our cross-country team to train and team-build. The trails are well-maintained, the hills provide a nice workout and the lake allows for some after-training recovery. Our cabin was perfect, the food is fabulous and the staff are fun and accomodating. It is nice to have staff-directed activities throughout the day and evening to balance the serious side of training with the fun side of activities with friends. We have already booked our team for next year!" –Theresa Stanko, Haslett High School Cross Country Head Coach, Haslett MI.

TOTALLY CONFIDENT

"After dropping off our daughter on the first day, we left feeling totally confident that it would be a wonderful experience. Thanks to the wonderful camp staff." –Mrs. Meyer

POSTCARD HOME

"On the postcard Sam sent home to me it said, “Dear Mom, I am a blue chip for the first time. Blue Chip is the highest swimming rank. Thank you for sending me." It doesn’t get any better than that!" –Mrs Reyes

FIRST TIME AT CAMP

"Our son had a wonderful first time experience at camp. His counselors were first-rate role models and “very cool”, as were is cabin mates. As parents, we felt our son had a wholesome experience- it left us nostalgic for our Y-camp days."  –Molly & Matt Galo

WHEN I AM A COUNSELOR

"My son has been to camp for 4 years and is already talking about “when I am a counselor at camp…”  –Mrs. Chameli

A WORLD CLASS OPERATION

"As a seven-time returning teacher, I am confident that when my students are at Camp Pinewood they are safe, activitely engaged in their learning and developing skills that simply can't be taught in the classroom. The exceptionally professional, and highly trained staff at Pinewood will go out of their way to accomodate the needs of any group, or individual, in order to make the camp experience one that will last a lifetime. Camp Pinewood is a world-class operation, which is why I would never take my students anywhere else." –Ernie DeSantis, 5th grade teacher, Snow Elementary, Dearborn MI.
