YMCA Family Camp Nawakwa believes that family is the most important foundation upon which we build our lives. Therefore, we’re committed to providing a safe and friendly environment to create lifelong memories and offering opportunities that foster families' growth and strength. Our Family Camp programs have the following objectives:
Strengthen family relationships
Encourage positive values in an outdoor setting
Build awareness of the environment and an appreciation of wilderness
Provide an atmosphere of fun and relaxation
With the great outdoors as a background, families spend quality time with each other and friends alike with the option of participating in optional staff-designed activities for all ages. Every year, families look forward to reuniting with friends and that’s what keeps our retention rates so high!

YMCA Camp Nawakwa is located at 13400 Camp Nawakwa Lane, Lac du Flambeau, WI 54538.
Family Camp Nawakwa’s main lodge office is typically open:
- Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Please note that summer is a very busy season and we may not be in the office at all times.
Our History
From our founding in the early 1920s, YMCA Family Camp Nawakwa has fostered and promoted the Y’s mission of creating long-lasting change in our communities by helping people explore their values and share their discoveries with the world. With a century of service under our belt, here at Family Camp Nawakwa, we continue to improve quality of life for youth and families by providing enrichment, teaching life skills, and promoting wellness of spirit, mind, and body.

Facilities & Accommodations
Interested in getting away from the hustle and bustle? Looking for a unique team bonding experience beyond the usual ice breaker games or a location for your upcoming conference? Located on 180 acres of pristine forest, wetlands, and lakes with abundant wildlife, YMCA Family Camp Nawakwa is the perfect place for any adventurous celebration, event, or outing! Nestled between Big Crooked and Little Sugarbush Lakes, Family Camp Nawakwa is ideal for swimming and boating. We have 34 cabins available in the summertime (from Memorial Day weekend to Indigenous People’s Day weekend) and 9 cabins available from mid-October until Memorial Day weekend.
