Financial Assistance

The McCormick Tribune YMCA accepts Action for Children certificates. Action for Children is a child care financial assistance program provided by the Illinois Department of Human Service for working families. Families will need to provide household income information to qualify. The Action for Children applications, re-determination forms and change of provider forms for McCormick Tribune YMCA site are available at our Membership Desk.

DON'T WAIT! The process for applying can take up to 30 days for new applicants to receive approval. The average time range from 10-15 days. We will need to have an approval letter before the first week of camp.

If you are not approved before the camp begins and you want your child to start, you will need to pay the full price. Once you are approved your payment will be credited toward your monthly co-pay. Once you are accepted you will be responsible for paying the parent co-pay. The only exceptions is if the family has an open case and can add the YMCA as an ADDED Provider.

Please contact Action for Children at 773.823.1100 or www.actforchildren.org for more information.

Please note: Applications for Action for Children with our information are available at our Membership Desk. Applications are available on-line, but you will need information from our center to complete the application. Do not mail applications to the YMCA.

Parents are responsible for submitting all information to Action for Children.
