Sarai Hoffman

Sarai Hoffman, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, joined the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago in July 2010.
In her role, Sarai is responsible for strengthening the YMCA's fundraising strategy and execution across its 65 locations and 100 extension sites. She believes in the power of people working collaboratively to transform lives and she is committed to facilitating philanthropy as a means to this goal.
Sarai is an experienced fundraising professional who combines analysis and creativity with time-tested fundraising strategies to invigorate an organization's development programs. In a career of over 20 years, Sarai has developed philanthropic programs in some of Chicago's most prestigious cultural and educational organizations.
At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Sarai created programs that showcased the contributions of artists at the School, inspiring new investments from individuals and organizations. As senior development officer for the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, she systematically implemented best practices, redirected communication strategies, and built an effective team of staff and volunteers that exponentially increased annual fundraising revenue and secured the largest gifts in the organization's history.
Sarai holds a B.F.A from the University of Utah with Continuing Education from Kellogg Center for Nonprofit Management.
